  • Grace Buckler

     The Privacy Advocate Grace Buckler is an internationally recognized privacy expert, founder and principal of THE PRIVACY ADVOCATE, a global privacy & information security consulting firm. Buckler advises and supports public and private-sector organizations on privacy governance, management strategy, compliance readiness, and privacy risk management efforts across business areas and functions. Prior to founding THE PRIVACY ADVOCATE, Buckler was Principal Consultant, Cybersecurity Performance Oversight Manager, Technology Manager, Sr. Security Engineer, and Sr. Information Assurance Engineer in the technology management space and cybersecurity practices of both U.S. and global organizations. Grace has served overseas as consultant with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Office of Inspector General in Japan. Buckler has earned recognitions and an award for her contributions as the principal consultant for the United States Secret Service.      The Privacy Professor Rebecca has 25+ years of systems engineering, information security, privacy & compliance experience, is CEO of The Privacy Professor® consultancy she founded in 2004, & President of SIMBUS, LLC Information Security, Privacy & Compliance cloud services she founded in 2014. She actually engineered the SIMBUS architecture and associated services, including modules for online employee and contractor information security and privacy training and awareness. She has authored 19 books, the last two of which were privacy books published by ISACA in 2017; one titled, “ISACA Privacy Principles and Program Management Guide” and the other titled, “Implementing a Privacy Protection Program: Using COBIT 5 Enablers With the ISACA Privacy Principles.” Rebecca has contributed to dozens of other books and hundreds of articles. Rebecca has led the U.S. National Institute of Standards & Technology Smart Grid Privacy Subgroup for 7 years, was a co-founder/officer for IEEE P1912 Privacy and Security Architecture for Consumer Wireless Devices Working Group and is on many advisory boards. Rebecca has also been an IAPP certification faculty member since 2010. She was Adjunct Professor for the Norwich University Master of Science in Information Security & Assurance program for 9 years, has received numerous awards and keynoted on 5 continents. She appears regularly on the KCWI23 morning television show, hosts the Voice America radio show “Data Security & Privacy with the Privacy Professor” each Friday afternoon, and is quoted in diverse publications.   • Natalya Klein-Atlas

    Data Privacy Consultant Natalya holds a Master of Legal Studies from Stanford Law School. Prior to studying at Stanford, Natalya received a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin and earlier, a Master of Arts in International Economics Relations from the Finance University in Moscow, Russia. Her career has spanned Program Management, Data Privacy, and Legal Compliance. During her time at Google she managed aspects of anonymization of log files for various products and platforms. Later at LinkedIn, she was responsible for crowdsourcing and human judgment projects company-wide. In that capacity Natalya regularly interacted with privacy counsel and advised engineers, product managers, and data-scientists on how to conduct data gathering experiments in compliance with LinkedIn's member privacy policy. In addition to privacy program management, she has general technical program management experience dating back to 2003 and is well versed in issues of labor law compliance and other topics at the interdisciplinary nexus of program management and compliance.

    Attorney and Deputy Chief Privacy Officer As Deputy Chief Privacy Officer for the State of South Carolina, Alex White serves as a state subject-matter expert on privacy. His office supports privacy compliance and best practices for over 70 state agencies and entities operating in finance, healthcare, law enforcement, education, and other sectors. Alex is an attorney licensed in Illinois and the District of Columbia and an internationally-experienced speaker on privacy topics. He serves as a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals' Privacy Bar Section Advisory Board and was the founder of the IAPP State, Local, & Municipal Government Affinity Group. On January 10, 2017, he was appointed by former Secretary Jeh Johnson to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee (DPIAC). Prior to joining the State of South Carolina, Alex worked in the insurance industry in emerging issues, enterprise risk management, regulatory compliance, government affairs, and product development, including drafting and review of cyber liability forms. As a trainer, he has taught privacy courses and graduate school test preparation, as well as tutored language and literacy skills. He holds a variety of privacy, legal, cybersecurity, and risk management qualifications and is a two-time graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in history and a Juris Doctor.
