IT Consultant and Trainer
Technology doesn’t stand still – and neither does technology expert and instructor, Dan Garfield. “Everything I do is designed to keep me out of a rut,” he says. “I travel. I love not having a 9-5 job. I love exploring technology – seeing what it can do and figuring out new ways to make it do new things. And I love learning and teaching.”
Dan’s fascination with technology goes all the way back to his early days as a musician and sound designer for artists ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Joe Walsh of Eagles fame. “In show business,” he says, “there ARE no failures. Everything HAS to work. So, that’s always been my perspective.”
Dan’s teaching and consulting excellence have given him the opportunity to learn about industries ranging from legal and finance to government and the military to biotechnology and high tech gaming. He has taught courses in locations all over the world, including England, Australia, India, Turkey, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Singapore, Malaysia , Vietnam, Mauritius, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Norway, and “Geek Cruises” through the Caribbean and every corner of the US.
He holds a Master of Science in Information Security and Assurance degree (MSISA), and his certifications include Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP-RS & CCNP-SP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), Certified Wireless Security Professional (CWSP), EC Council Disaster Recovery Professional (EDRP), GIAC Certified ISO-17799 Specialist (G7799), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and CompTIA Hardware (A+), Networking (Network+), Security (Security+), Project Management (Project+), and Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+).
